Getting Started

globalfair Attend the Global Fair

The Global Fair will be held on Wednesday, September 6 from 3-6pm in Harrington Auditorium. Every off-campus Project Center will be represented as we kick off the application season for 2018-2019 programs. You may stop by at any time and will receive a "passport" with more details about the programs. All Sophomores who are interested in completing an off-campus IQP are strongly encouraged to attend.  For a PDF of the Passport click here: Coming Soon!

schedule View the How To Apply Video, Attend Site Sessions, and Browse Programs

We have created a step-by-step guide to walk you through the application process. IQP applicants are required to watch this video which can be found on your Canvas portal under My Courses. Access the course and follow the instructions to view the video and complete a short quiz.  All Sophomores are already added to this course. If you do not have access to the course and are applying for an IQP, email bcclarkson@wpi.edu to be registered.

Site sessions are more in depth presentations about each site. These sessions will be held in person, or in some cases be available by video. A full schedule can be found on IGSD’s TechSync page under events. IQP applicants are required to attend a site session for their first choice program. Morocco HUA programs share the same Site Session as Morocco IQP. London HUA Site Sessions can be found on TechSync.  MQP applicants are not required to attend a site session for their first choice program.

You will find a detailed description of each Project Center on the Program Pages. Some factors to consider as you browse programs include (hint: these answers can be found on the program pages!):

  • What type of projects have been completed at the Project Center?
  • Do you have any personal health concerns (allergies, chronic conditions) that could impact where you travel based on climate and/or environmental factors?
  • What term(s) can you feasibly go away?
  • How competitive has the site been in the past?
  • What price range are you looking at for this experience? Have you discussed cost with your family?

Visit the Dates and Deadlines for a full overview of the application timeline.
